Smooth Radio presenter Simon Bates has chosen the iconic Houses of Parliament as his favourite view of London:

“I love walking around London and taking snaps on my digital camera. This is one of London’s most recognised images and it blows me away everytime I see it.”

If you were on the Millenium Bridge this morning you might have caught a great photo opportunity… Carrots being put through their paces by boot camp trainers!

Despite the weather, the brave carrots practised press-ups and lunges to get into shape for Carrots Nightwalk – a brand new fundraising event launched by Fight for Sight this week during National Eye Health Week.

“My favourite view in London is the O2. I remember all the hype when the Millennium Dome opened, I go to so many concerts and events at the O2 and it’s great to see the Dome being used into the future”

“Go out on your own to take photographs whenever you can – friends and family, however devoted, get fed up with hanging around. You either loose a shot…or have a row. And always keep an open photographic mind. You may be out looking for something in particular – but something else may come up on the inside – and you don’t want to miss it.”

“Consider photographing from a high point – it puts the subject in the context of its locality with a third dimension. Good to look at the subject from a different viewpoint.”

This is an incredible chance to gain feedback from the professionals. Prizes for the top three photographers will also include a 12 month subscription to Digital SLR Photography magazine, so winners can be kept up to date with the latest new, reviews and techniques.
